By 2013 the price of onion had reached its highest record, that is the price of Rp 60.295/kg. A surge in the price of imported products restriction policy under the recently passed and dimplementasikan by the Government. The price spike but unfortunately not followed with an increased protection against factors of production (inputs) farming of red onion. Government policy towards the input factors of production are still a disincentive against farmers. Red onion farmers still have to pay factors of production (inputs) is higher than the price should be. This research aims to find out some alternative policy programme in an attempt to improve protection to growers of onions. In this study used the method of Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). Based on the research results obtained by some alternative policy priorities expected by farmers to improve protection against input and output factors farmer onion, i.e. menenetapkan the minimum price level of onion farmer, insure that the amount and time of realization of the import is done at the moment off sesason, provide an alternative model/installment payment scheme that is more friendly to farmers, focus their efforts on developing seeds facilities, develop current price information to farmers, as well as taking the initiative against the possibility of the practice of the cartels in the food products, pesticides.
