Eksplorasi bahan dan plasma nutfah lokal yang dapat diperbarui sebagai bahan baku utama produksi harus dioptimalkan sedemikian rupa untuk pemanfaatan yang sebesar-besarnya bagi kepentingan rakyat.

Dalam hal penerapan efisiensi di sektor perkebunan kelapa sawit, penggunaan pupuk hayati, organik, dan pembenah tanah merupakan solusi terbaik untuk menghemat biaya pemupukan yang menempati komposisi dominan dalam skema biaya produksi minyak kelapa sawit secara keseluruhan. Sementara untuk sektor pertanian aplikasi ketiga jenis bahan tersebut telah teruji untuk mengatasi keterbatasan kualitas dan luasan lahan produktif dengan indikator peningkatan produktivitas tanaman.

Workshop yang akan diselenggarakan oleh Pusat Penelitian Bioteknologi dan Bioindustri Indonesia pada tanggal 8-10 September 2015 merupakan salah satu upaya untuk menyajikan informasi aktual tentang perkembangan riset, teknologi industri dan prospek pasar pupuk hayati, organik, dan pembenah tanah. Dalam konteks ini riset dan teknologi yang dikembangkan diharapkan dapat memberikan jawaban terhadap mekanisme kerja mikroorganisme tanah dalam mengoptimalkan kualitas tanah serta menjadi solusi yang akurat terhadap upaya pemanfaatan sumber daya alam untuk efisiensi biaya produksi dan meningkatkan produktifitas tanaman.

Tujuan Workshop :
 Sarana informasi penerapan model pengelolaan perkebunan dan pertanian berbasis hayati dan organik.
 Menjabarkan strategi produksi dan pemasaran pupuk hayati, organik, dan pembenah tanah.
 Membangun komunikasi riset, usaha, dan penetapan kebijakan regulasi distribusi dan pengawasan mutu pupuk hayati, organik, dan pembenah tanah antara pemerintah, produsen dan praktisi perkebunan/pertanian.
